In Santa Luzia, the octopus capital, you will learn about octopus fishing techniques, the corresponding fishing boats and the typical architecture of this region. Continuing on to Torre de Aires, known for its oyster beds and an ancient Roman tower, we will head to the village of Fuseta, which is mainly dedicated to fishing and tourism.
Olhão, the capital of Ria Formosa, is known for its municipal fish market, which offers fresh seafood, and for its distinctive cubist architecture. Finally, the tour ends with a visit to the salt pans. Here, you will take a trip back in time, learning about the techniques and the entire natural process involved in the production of the ancient ‘white gold’ – salt.
