This jeep tour visits the historic centre of Tavira, salt pans, the old tuna fishing village and Santa Luzia (the octopus capital).

The boat trip starts at the Santa Luzia pier and heads out to the Atlantic Ocean, where you will have the pleasure of seeing, from the sea, the anchor cemetery and the old fishing village now known as Barril beach.

On your return to the riverside pier in Tavira, enjoy the natural beauty of the Ria Formosa Natural Park.

It was a great tour. You get to see so much and learn all about the history of Tavira. The salt flats were amazing to see, and we were lucky enough to see some flamingos there too. The chocolate shop is beautiful with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Our tour guide Lori was brilliant, she gave us so much information and navigated the tuk tuk around some pretty challenging roads! Great value for money. Would definitely recommend this tour.

This tour has it all! We strolled through the streets of the old town, crossed the salt pans, and learned all about the history of Tavira and the people who live there. We were lucky enough to see flamingos and many other birds! João is the real deal – he is very knowledgeable and passionate about the history of the town, the people and the wildlife that live there.
