The Monterosa Extra Virgin Olive Oil is produced by olive groves spanning 15 hectares in Moncarapacho, located in the Sotavento region of the Algarve.
The olives are meticulously handpicked and swiftly transported to our mill, where they are crushed using granite millstones, employing a mechanical process that traces its roots back to Roman times.
The oil is then extracted, filtered, stored in stainless steel tanks, and bottled using state-of-the-art technology, ensuring the highest standards of quality. Monterosa offers an array of premium olive oils, including four single-varietal options – Verdeal, Maçanilha, Picual, and Cobrançosa – and a Selection blend crafted with excellence from varieties carefully chosen by the Monterosa tasting panel. Additionally, there’s an Extra Virgin Olive Oil labeled “Horta do Félix,” which combines a selection of our varieties.
Monterosa’s guided tours, featuring a stroll through the olive groves, a visit to the mill, and a tasting session of premium olive oils, are certified with the Clean & Safe seal awarded by Turismo de Portugal, ensuring the safety and comfort of all visitors.
