This tour aims to explore key areas of the Sotavento region in the Algarve, nestled between the mountains and the sea. The itinerary includes a visit to a traditional ceramics workshop, mountain views, and a journey towards São Brás de Alportel, known as the cork capital.
In Estoi, we will explore the Roman ruins of Villa Rústica, inhabited since the 1st century AD, undergoing significant transformations in the 2nd/3rd centuries to become a luxurious building, evident in the remaining mosaics and marbles.
Continuing to the city of Olhão, renowned as the capital of Ria Formosa and famous for its fresh fish and seafood. The next stop is the charming village of Fuseta, dedicated to fishing and tourism. In Santa Luzia, the octopus capital, you will discover the art of octopus fishing.
Returning to Tavira, we will pause for lunch at a restaurant serving Portuguese tapas cuisine. After lunch, we head to Cacela Velha, undoubtedly offering the best panoramic view of the ocean in Sotavento.
The adventure concludes in the town of Castro Marim, known for its two forts and typical regional architecture.
